Stan Forester is a native-born resident of Winston-Salem, a graduate of RJ Reynolds HS in 1969 and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1973. His love for land and nature eventually led him to pursue a career in real estate and development, assembling a remarkable portfolio of residential communities such as Lasley Forest, Brook Acres, Deer Run and commercial centers River Ridge and Millers Creek. Ask any of his grandchildren what he does for a living, and they will affectionately reply, “Gran Stan sells dirt.” Not only does it draw a few laughs, but it accurately depicts Stan’s long and eccentric career in real estate.
Lochlea may be his most exciting project yet, as Stan and his family have called it home since 1992. Stan walked every inch of this property for over 30 years and planned Lochlea with meticulous attention to detail. When not at the office, Stan can be found donning his signature tartan bunnet, driving his Allis-Chalmers tractor or on the golf course practicing for his next trip to Scotland.
